Annual Regatta Saturday, August 20, 2011; 1PM @ the Jubilee YC
On the Saturday following the end the last session, Sandy Point will host its Annual Regatta. This fun filled day of sailing is offered for participants of all levels and sessions. Participants of the Learn to Sail program will sail Pixels and participate in races close to the beach. Racers will be challenged in ‘Round the Buoy’ and ‘Watermelon Retrieval’ contests. Adventure Sailing and Racing Team participants will sail more traditional races in Club 420’s.
Following the Regatta, a light lunch will be served for participants and their families. A short Awards Ceremony will recognize the Regatta Race winners and trophies will be presented to recognize sailors in each of the following categories: Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, Most Improved, and Instructor's Award.
Following the Regatta and Award Ceremony, all boats will be brought to the beach, hauled to the upper lot and put away for the winter.
